Revolutionising AEM Edge Delivery Services Development with AI
A Live Demonstration
Welcome, everyone. I'm Tom Cranstoun, an independent Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Consultant. Today, I'm excited to showcase the transformative power of AI in web development, specifically for Adobe Edge Delivery Services.
In this demonstration, I will show you how AI can rapidly create complex components, streamlining development and enhancing productivity.
I will use Cursor, an AI-powered Integrated Development Environment (IDE), to bring our vision to life Cursor (trycursor.com).
What I will create
Our goal is to develop:
- An Image rotate widget, and
- Newsfeed blocks with weather info
Here's what the AI will generate for us:
Front-end assets:
- CSS stylesheets
- JavaScript files
Documentation:
- A comprehensive README.md file detailing the blocks
- Sample tables for documents
If we have Json feeds for our block, the AI will also create
- Sample JSON in Edge Delivery Services formats
- Sample CSV files for Google Sheets integration
The Process
We'll begin this with carefully crafted prompts. We can include a screenshot of our desired output or a sample website. Watch as the AI interprets our requirements and generates the necessary code and documentation, including test data. Pay close attention as we witness the future of web development unfold. Let's see how quickly and accurately our AI assistant can bring our blocks to life.
Why This Matters
This demonstration illustrates how AI can revolutionise the development workflow, especially for complex systems like Adobe Edge Delivery Services. By leveraging AI, we can:
- Drastically reduce development time
- Ensure consistency across components
- Generate comprehensive documentation automatically
- Create sample data for testing and presentation
